Grab Bar Installation Policy
What We Install
- Surfaces: Drywall (into studs only) and tile/stone/glass.
- Method: Studs wherever accessible; where studs aren’t available behind tile, we use manufacturer-rated anchors appropriate to the substrate.
- Code/Guidelines: Residential installs per client preference with ADA-informed recommendations; commercial/public work per 2010 ADA §609 / TAS when required.
Warranties
- Lifetime Installation Guarantee: If our workmanship causes a failure (e.g., loosening), we fix it at no charge for as long as you own the home.
- Product Warranty: Covered by the manufacturer’s limited warranty (varies by brand/finish). We’ll help with claims.
Tile & Brittle Surface Risk (No Liability)
- Inherent Risk: Tile, stone, glass, and other brittle finishes can chip or crack during drilling even when proper tools and techniques are used.
- Customer Acknowledgment: By authorizing a tile/stone/glass installation, you acknowledge this risk and agree that SteadyBars is not responsible for any chips, cracks, or damage to the surface, grout, waterproofing, or wall assemblies caused by drilling/fastening.
- Repairs/Matching: All repairs or replacements are the owner’s responsibility, including sourcing matching tile and related costs. We can refer third-party pros on request.
- Concealed Conditions: We are not liable for damage due to hidden or disclosed conditions (voids, hollow spots, radiant heat, plumbing/electrical in wall, inadequate backing, pre-existing cracks).
- Right to Decline/Stop: If conditions appear unsafe or excessively risky, we may decline or stop work at our discretion.
Customer Responsibilities
- Access & Presence: Clear the area; an adult (18+) must be present to approve final locations.
- Disclosures: Tell us about known utilities, radiant heat, unusual substrates, prior water damage, or prior repairs.
- Aftercare: Clean with mild soap/water; avoid chlorides/bleach/acidic cleaners. Inspect periodically and contact us if anything changes.
Limits & Exclusions
- Non-standard substrates (plaster, acrylic/fiberglass surrounds, masonry, metal studs, glass panels, etc.) may require special hardware, extra labor, or a separate quote.
- Abuse/overloading, third-party alterations, chemical damage, or misuse void the installation guarantee.
Insurance
We carry general liability insurance; proof available on request.
Legal
- Local Compliance: We follow applicable codes when required; permitting/inspections for commercial work are the owner’s responsibility unless our contract says otherwise.
- Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid for the installation service. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
- Indemnity: You agree to hold us harmless for claims arising from misuse or third-party alterations, except for our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
